Day 22 - Shopping Day

Today I went over to the Indian government shopping bazaar. It is a collaboration of Indian textiles, jewelry, furniture, etc. and is about three to four stories. It is located across the street from our hotel. I found some neat things while I was there.

Quite honestly, today was the first day that I ventured out of hotel compound area. I really didn't think I was up for more of what we saw on the way to Delhi. I kind of had to weave on and off the sidewalk, past street vendors to get to the end of the block to cross the street. Surprisingly, very few people tried to get my attention to hire a cab, give them money, or buy something like they were in Agra.

Tomorrow we leave for Nepal. I am really excited about this little excursion. I don't have any expectations for what Nepal will be like other than cold. I know we will be traveling very carefully as there is a travel warning for Nepal due to kidnappings and extortion. Let's hope the kidnappers and extortioners pass us over!

Sarah Be careful cause I don't know what we'd do if you got lost in Katmandu. I am excited for you, but make sure to post a blog at base camp, I don't think they have rechargers for your computer at the summit of Everest.

We sometimes laugh at Quincy's life plan... "marry Maria Jose and then WHEN SHE DIES I'll be an astronaught (space ranger)"

Kim just read your post and said that her life plan is to get married and have three kids AND THEN WHEN HER HUSBAND DIES she's going to travel the world like you.

I'm not feeling too good about this development.

I'm glad you got yourself out of the hotel for a bit. You can still get cabin fever no matter how nice the place is. As you journey into Nepal, remember the skills taught by the sensei: use the force and if that doesn't work, the bowstaff is equally effective. Strike like a mongoose!

Continuing in my prayers for you. Much love!!!!

You should see me Sarah... Every time you travel to a different location, I look you up in my handy dandy world atlas on my desk and skim a wiki article about the place as well. I'm learning so much! This adventure of yours has been such a blessing to me too! Except for the minor detail that I'M NOT WITH YOU. That part kinda sucks.

But as cheesy as it sounds, I am with you in spirit! It's true! The same sun shines on us and our prayers are lifted to the same God. Mindblowing.

Oh, forgot... Last night I went to Starkville for a concert with Tommy and Kim and we chatted about you during dinner! You've spurred on many conversations, girl!

Let me start by saying that I have read your last several posts to several people at work.

I have to say, without trying to sound unimpacted by your previous posts, that I am proud that you did not let the sadness get in the way of what is out there. I realize there is a lot of bad and unjust but there is so much to experience to let yourself just get swept away by all of the ugly.

What an exilerating feeling...alittle danger mixed with the excitement of the unknown.
I will be praying for you and your new adventure.

"For He orders His angels to protect you wherever you go. They will steady you with their hands to keep you from stumbling against the rocks on the trail." Psalms 91:11-12 Your hike up that mountain is already protected! Praying for you always.

Sarah...I got to go down the Nantahala River in NC last summer...white water rocks! My sister and I did it. When it was over...we wanted to get something from the shop to take home to remind of that unbelieveable experience....so we bought these shirts. On the back it says: Life without danger is a waste of oxygen

When I wear it, it empowers me! I like what Jenny said...enjoy the adventure!

Still praying...flee
