Home

A little over six months ago, I was praying that God would help me find a house. I was at a place in my life where I had/have a great job, great church family, and was/am surrounded by amazing friends here in Lubbock. I knew this was where I wanted to be.

Someone at church mentioned that I should look at the For Sale by Owner website. Well, pretty soon I found my house. I had a blast getting it situated and making it my own, and enjoyed the contributions my parents and friends made to help me get it where I wanted it.

This weekend my brother and his family planned to come visit me. I was excited to have a place to house all of them. Late Friday afternoon my aunt called and said there were no more hotels available and asked if she and my uncle could stay at my house. I was so excited because I was hoping they would stay with me. My aunt, uncle, brother, sister-in-law, niece, and two nephews all arrived Friday night within five minutes of each other.

We spent the weekend going to see my cousin perform with Best Friends at LCU, eating, talking, and enjoying each other's company. Last night as I prayed, I just thanked God for giving me this home and a place for me to enjoy the people I love. This morning it was awesome to have my brother and his family go to church with me and worship with the church I love so much!

In our Sunday morning kids class that I teach, we have been studying how God takes care of his people. I am reminded everyday how blessed I am by God. I am amazed at how he answers prayer and provides for my every need. He graciously provided me with this house, and I love being able to share it with family and friends.

Please pray that God will help me be a good steward of what he has given me.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17

You have taken that house, which was truly a gift from God to you, and used it in this short time to have countless people over. It is always a comfortable, inviting place to be. I've already had lots of laughs there.

You have a gift that you put to good use. You are blessed with the desire and the knack for entertaining. Whether it's dinner or just movie night, you provide for your visitors. You really are good at that Sarah.

I love the work you are doing with the children and I know that you are impressing upon them that same value you have ... to be good stewards of what God has provided.

Glad you had a good family-filled weekend. It was great having them with you Sunday.

Sarah, your house has been a blessing to many people. You have taken God's gift and shared it with your family and friends. That is being a good steward!

You are such a wonderful friend. Thank you for including me in your life and blessing me with your friendship. God is working in your life and I feel certain He is not anywhere near finished!!

Thanks for the bed! We had a great time... I think JF was a little afraid he was going to tear something up! Sorry about the Sunday lunch... We missed the good food and the company... always a good time together. We are looking fw to thanksgiving at G and J. I thought it was fun how everyone spent time together at different times.... We enjoyed church... we are supposed to bring the rabbit back in late Jan or early Feb, so maybe we can do it again and there is always JF's class reunion at LCU later this year ...love you lf

Every time I am in your new home I think about how perfect it is for you, like it was waiting for you to move in. God can do that. God does that. He leads us to the places where we belong, where we fit. Remember, though, it's not just about the structure. I've been in almost every place you've resided over the last 10 years and each has been a wonderful, welcoming place to be because you made it so.

I completely agree with Lisa. THE MOMENT I stepped foot into your home it screamed "I belong to Sarah!" And every change you have made only makes it a more welcoming place.

God is preparing you for great things, and I know that the sanctuary you offer to so many through your home is only a beginning.
