My Very Own Home!

Well, I am in my new house, but far from settled in. It is a lot more work than I ever expected. I thought I was just going to have to repaint a few rooms, but I am finding that every room in the house needs a fresh coat of paint. One of the most annoying things is that all the baseboards are painted the same color as the walls. I am finding places on the ceiling where it wasn't taped off and there are paint streaks on the sides of mirrors, showers, tile, doorframes, etc. How hard is it to tape things off? Oh well, it keeps me busy!

I have painted my dining room, and living room. I am taking a break from the hallway painting at the moment. Home Depot has given me a frequent buyer card and have made me a shareholder in the company because of how often I have been there! They are getting my life savings it seems like.

I have taken pictures, but cannot find the plug to connect my camera to my computer. So unfortunately, I have nothing visual to give you. I guess that just means you'll have to come visit me! And if you do, wear your paint clothes, because I'll put you to work!

Doesn't a fresh coat of paint make everything look clean and fresh? It is a lot of work, but I think it might also help to make it feel like home...

I look forward to pictures!

Ha! I prophesy that you will find the cord in a box you packed, and that you won't remember putting it in that particular box.

I can't wait to see the changes. I know they will all scream SARAH!

Elaine! Come over! Bring the boys to play with Bentley! He's wild and it'll expend his and their energy! I love it!

Sydni, talk Clint into making it this way. I have a room just for you guys!

I can't wait to see your house....well...I think I will wait until you are finished painting! My most un-favorite job!

I put things up at this "new" house a couple of years ago...can't find them now. mmmm aggravating! I have no one to blame but myself, but I will blame the kids anyway ;-)

I love you lady!! Don't work yourself too hard.

From what I've heard you are really fixing things up nicely. I'm so excited for you and hope this house is "home" for you soon.

So you picked up Bentley? How's that working out? Found any presents yet?

Congratulations on your new home Sarah! I LOVE to paint- no kidding. I think everywhere we move I get to help people add color to their lives :) ( I have my own color wheel- I am such a dork) If I wasn't moving myself I'd come help! So happy for you~ Take care.

Melanie, you are a dear! I would SO enlist your help if you were here. At the moment I have lost the desire to paint, and am exhausted! I am headed back to bed!

I know how you feel Sarah! We've just moved in and are immediately getting to work. We're having the outside of the house painted, but get the pleasure of painting the inside ourselves. First comes the nursery which is most important, ha, then the other bedrooms. I also loved your statement about Home Depot. It has suddenly become our second home, ha. I'd like to get together soon, come by 4010 38th St. :)

Well, I am glad you are getting the place like you want it. I'd help you, I really would. But I am in the land of the longhorns, toiling for my own place. Church was very good. I still havent met Cilantro yet. I would think I could find her?? Maybe she is hiding from me. Oh well, I have met lots of other people. It is a good place.

Barry, I have a job waiting for you when you come back for a visit. I want to replace the bedroom closet bi-fold doors with regular doors. It is gonna need some carpentry help. It has your name all over it! So when you headed this way?

Well, I have experience in that department. I am a shade tree carpenter. I might be headed that way in a week or two. Just keep those two killer watchdogs back. It's hard to work in those conditions!!

Sounds like a lot of fun. Brings back memories of helping Paul and Kristy paint their first house. ...good times!

Wish I could drop by and grab a brush.
