March 17th happens to be my most favorite day of the year. It is a reminder of my nearly two years of living in Ireland. As you can imagine, Ireland holds a very special place in my heart!
Usually on this day, I am preparing shepards pie, and bread pudding for all my friends. Today, however, my kitchen is out of commission because I am painting it.....green, incidently!
I have so many memories of Ireland; the people, tea and biscuits, rain, fabulous landmarks and landscapes, Rose McGlynn's cooking (you haven't lived til you've had Rose cook for you!), the amazing church I worked with there.
So in honor of this day, I'll leave you an Irish Friendship Blessing:
May there always be work for your hands to do,
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine warm on your windowpane,
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you,
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
I sure wish I was there today! The Irish know how to do up Paddy's day! Instead, I will continue painting my kitchen my favorite color!

I thought of you today as I was watching the Today show when Meredith and Al were celebrating St. Patrick's Day in Ireland. What a neat experience that must've been for you.
Can't wait to see your new kitchen. I bet it'll be beautiful.
Happy St Paddy's Day!
I missed the gym this morning because I didn't want to miss the Today show in Dublin. Oh, how I miss it!
The kitchen is officially done. Now to cleaning the rest of the house and yards.....sigh....
HEY! I have some free slave labor if you need help with the yard! At least that way they can say they did SOMETHING on spring break.
I would love to see Ireland. That is really the only country that tempts me to travel outside the good ol'USA. It looks so beautiful in the pics I have seen. Hope you get a chance to be a bum some during Spring Break. :)
I've been a bum all day today, Sherry. I did go to spin this morning, but mostly, I've been lazy on my couch. I've GOT to clean my house! THANK YOU GOD FOR SPRING BREAK!!!!!
I really like that Friendship Blessing.
I would love for us to go back to Camp Shamrock once more ... that was a fun time.
Paige, if I could go back to Camp with anyone, it would be you! You don't know how good that visit was for us. We were in the height of culture shock, which in Northern Ireland is a completely different animal. Having friends from home was a God send! I can still remember opening my culture shock letters you guys wrote us. Yours was written on a globe notepad. It was the one that meant the most to me. I wish you knew just how deep the imprint is that you have left on my heart! I am SO thankful for you!
