Day 7 - Battling a Cold!

My alarm clock!

View of the hotel from the beach at sunset!

Looking up from the 18th floor.

Nothing too interesting to report today. Slept most of the day because I'm battling a cold. I took some Zycam, and man does that stuff work! I had only heard about it, but now I can give a first hand account. I don't think it is supposed to make you drowsy, but it knocked me out for the afternoon!

Zycam sounds pretty good. In China, one of the home remedies given us was a drink made by boiling pears and adding enormous amounts of sugar. I can't say that it was near as effective as Zycam, but it did taste pretty good. I bet if you asked someone around there you could get a pretty interesting cure from Dubai... or just email Angie. I have to believe in MS they've got some crazy cures too.
Get well.

Well, be careful who you ask in Dubai because if they recognize you as the scantily clad westerner from the other day, they'll probably tell you to put on a burka.

The pictures are great. I would love to sit in one of those beach chairs and soak up the sun. Maybe that trip to Padre Island sounds good after all. Mom

Alrighty Paul! I see your sissy sweet pear remedy & will raise you one serious salve made from kerosene and lard. It works, but has a horrid side effect of making you flammable.

Or cut several onions in half and place them around your home/hotel room or make a necklace to wear. It will stave off both colds and visitors.

And yes, these are for real! But I tend to stick with the more conservative route of taking vitamins and drinking lots of hot tea (Tazo Zen's a fave). I sure hope your ick is short-lived Sarah!

I'll be on the beach with your Mama if you have any more questions! ;-) C'mon Jana, let's go!

Thanks a mil Sarah. I really didn't want you to sacrifice your life for those bracelets but I appreciate it. Loving your blogsite. I have little friends using your site as a basis for geography lessons.BRiddle

I am sorry that you are feeling bad. I have a great cure for the chas chas, oregano tea. It is nasty but it gets rid of what is ailing you!!

Beach sounds great to me I am freezing here in Denver. I will be happy when it makes it above 15 degrees!! Actually we are suppose to get up to 38 today. I am so excited. That means the 6ft. pile of ice may go down to 5 and a half. Lucky us!!

Did you mention a sore throat? My favorite advice here was to garggle some Taquila and lime. It will kill whatever is living in your throat. That, and it makes you care less if you have a sore throat or not.

Kim gets upset with me though when I'm looking for the salt shaker while complaining of a sore throat.

And Angie, I'm afraid of anything that might make me MORE flammable.

I'll put Zycam up against your home remedies any day! And it's a good night's (or day's) sleep! Think I'll go have one now, I feel a bit of a cough coming on!

That cup of coffee looks divine! It's a great day to enjoy a cup here... It's cold and we have light sleet here in Mississippi.

Kristen, man that sounds really bad. The weather has been hazy here the last couple of days, so we haven't even seen the sun. I think you guys have us beat on the extreme weather. We are going to London next so I think we're about to be in for a weather change!!!!
